When activist groups must navigate vastly different risk levels among members

Our community organizing group includes several undocumented members and the rest of us have citizenship, and every time we plan an action we have to navigate this really complex risk assessment where some of us face deportation and others face at most a night in jail. We all want to fight together but the stakes are so different that I don't know how we make decisions that honor everyone's reality.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group unified in purpose is divided by drastically different consequences for the same actions, requiring them to make strategic decisions that account for fundamentally unequal vulnerabilities.
