When artistic communities surface identity questions through creative choices

Our community theater group is trying to decide what shows to produce next season and it's revealed deep divisions about whose stories we think are worth telling and what kind of theater makers we want to be. I've realized that my own answers to these questions aren't as clear as I thought, and I'm seeing that several of us are using this artistic debate to work through our own identity questions about representation, voice, and belonging.
