When creative teams struggle with body hierarchy despite inclusive values

Our dance company is supposed to be body-positive and inclusive but when we're actually creating work together, there's this unspoken hierarchy based on who fits certain physical ideals and some of us are starting to call it out while others think we're being too sensitive. We all joined because we believed in the mission but we're discovering we have very different relationships to our own bodies and what inclusion actually looks like in practice.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group committed to body positivity is confronting how internalized physical hierarchies still shape their collaborative creative process.
