Our department hired three new faculty members this year who are all asking questions about things like workload distribution and committee assignments that those of us who've been here longer just accepted as 'how things work.' Their questions are legitimate but they're also making some senior colleagues defensive, and I'm caught between wanting to support change and not wanting to rock the boat.
