When mutual aid groups clash over voluntary exchange versus coordinated redistribution

Our local mutual aid network is struggling because I believe we should focus on direct voluntary exchanges and skill-sharing rather than redistributing donated money, but others want to pool resources and allocate them based on need assessments. We can't agree on whether true mutual aid should be completely voluntary or require some coordination and oversight.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

People trying to help their community are discovering that their different beliefs about voluntary versus organized assistance create fundamental conflicts about how to structure their shared efforts.
