Our mutual aid group formed during the pandemic and we were amazing at getting people food and resources, but now that things are more stable we can't agree on what we should be doing next. Some people want to focus on policy advocacy and others want to keep doing direct service and we're kind of stuck.
More people experience this than they realize.
Success in one phase doesn't automatically provide direction for the next phase, and groups can get trapped between their original identity and their emerging possibilities.
