When neighborhood groups split over competing midlife community values

Our neighborhood association is mostly people in their 40s and 50s and we've been trying to make decisions about community priorities, but it's becoming clear that we're divided between people who want to focus on property values and those of us who are thinking more about social connection and environmental impact. I think we're all reassessing what kind of community we want to live in as we get older but we can't agree on what that looks like.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A local community discovers that residents' evolving personal values create fundamental disagreements about shared priorities and decision-making.
