Our neighborhood association keeps having meetings about gentrification where the longtime residents and newcomers talk past each other completely, and I can see both sides getting more entrenched in their positions. We all want the neighborhood to be good but we have totally different ideas about what that means and who gets to decide.
More people experience this than they realize.
