Scenario

When community organizing reveals conflicting interests among members

Our neighborhood group formed to address gentrification but half of us are homeowners whose property values are rising and half are renters being priced out and we keep talking around this tension instead of through it. The meetings feel performative now and I don't think we can keep pretending our interests align.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group united by concern is discovering that their material positions create different stakes in the very problem they're trying to solve.
