How to organize when group members have conflicting interests

Our neighborhood group formed to address gentrification but half of us are homeowners whose property values are going up while the other half are renters getting priced out. Every meeting feels like we're performing solidarity while our actual interests are pulling in opposite directions and nobody wants to name it directly.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Shared political goals cannot resolve the underlying material contradictions within the group itself.
