When community groups have conflicting perspectives on gentrification

Our neighborhood group formed to address gentrification but half of us are longtime residents who've been pushed out of other areas and half are newer residents who moved here for affordability. When we talk about solutions, we're essentially talking past each other because our relationship to this place is completely different.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A shared commitment to place becomes complicated when members have fundamentally different relationships to displacement and belonging.
