Our neighborhood group found out the city is planning to put a halfway house on our street and everyone's talking about property values and safety, but no one wants to say out loud that we're basically trying to keep formerly incarcerated people away from us. I keep thinking about what kind of community we actually want to be versus what we're showing ourselves to be right now.
