Our neighborhood racial justice group says they want to be more inclusive of mixed-race voices but every time we try to share how racial issues affect us, people either dismiss it as 'not that serious' or turn us into symbols of racial harmony. We want to stay engaged but we're tired of being misunderstood in the space that's supposed to be fighting racism.
More people experience this than they realize.
