When secular communities split over how political to become

Our secular community group started as a social space for non-religious people but now half the members want us to become more politically active around church-state separation while the other half joined specifically to avoid the conflict and activism they associate with religious communities. We're losing people on both sides and I don't know if there's a version of secular community that can hold both needs.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group united by what they don't believe discovers that shared non-belief doesn't automatically create shared vision for collective action.
