Scenario

When organizing groups have different levels of institutional trust

Our union organizing committee includes both longtime employees who've seen every reform effort fail and newer workers who still believe the company can change. The veterans think we're wasting time with incremental demands while the newcomers think the old-timers are too cynical, and we can't build a unified strategy.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Historical experience and current hope are both rational responses to organizational reality, but they lead to incompatible strategies for change.
