When worker cooperatives struggle to balance individual needs with collective responsibilities

Our worker cooperative voted to prioritize family-friendly policies, but now that means some of us are covering for members who need to leave early for kids or take mental health days, and there's starting to be resentment from people who don't have those needs. We all believe in supporting each other but we haven't figured out how to make it actually sustainable instead of just expecting some people to quietly pick up the slack.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group committed to mutual aid is learning that good intentions don't automatically create sustainable systems for sharing unequal burdens.
