When your community organization faces ideological splits about strategy

We started this organization to address housing inequality in our neighborhood but now half our board wants to work with developers and the other half sees that as selling out to the exact forces we're supposed to be fighting. The meetings have become tense and I don't know if we can find a path forward that doesn't split us apart.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The group is discovering that shared values don't automatically translate to shared tactics, and the tension is threatening the work itself.
