My collaborator and I are composers working on an album together, and we've realized that my minimalist approach and her maximalist instincts create this amazing tension in the music, but also make every creative decision feel like a philosophical argument. We're both worried that talking about it directly will somehow break the magic, but not talking about it is making us second-guess every choice we make.
