When creative proximity leads to loss of individual voice

My studio partner and I share workspace and aesthetic influences but we've started unconsciously copying each other's techniques and visual language and now our individual work is becoming indistinguishable in ways that feel more like artistic contamination than inspiration. We're both losing our distinct voices but the proximity makes it hard to see clearly.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The intimacy of shared creative space has created an unconscious merging that threatens the individual artistic identities that made the collaboration valuable in the first place.
