When collaborative writing loses both voices instead of blending them

My writing partner and I started this project because we wanted to blend our voices but three months in every paragraph feels like a compromise and neither of us recognizes our own writing anymore and we can't tell if we're creating something new or just diluting what made each of us good in the first place.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The pursuit of harmony has created a voice that belongs to neither creator.
