When creative groups lose their edge through consensus

Our art collective used to make decisions by consensus but as we've grown from four to eight people, every project proposal turns into a committee meeting and the work that comes out feels designed by committee too. We're making safer, blander pieces because we're trying to accommodate everyone's input instead of taking creative risks.
