When collaborative groups outgrow their decision-making processes

Our experimental theater collective has been creating work together for five years and we've always prided ourselves on consensus decision-making but lately every creative choice feels like it takes forever to resolve and I can feel us all getting frustrated with the process but no one wants to be the person who suggests we need a different way.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A commitment to egalitarian creation is colliding with the practical need for creative momentum, but the group's identity is too tied to their process to easily evolve it.
