My astronomy club used to feel like a spiritual community where we'd have these amazing conversations about our place in the universe, but ever since we got the big grant for equipment it's become all about citizen science projects and data collection. I miss when we just sat in wonder together, but saying that makes me sound like I'm against scientific progress.
