Our book club stopped reading books six months ago and now we just drink wine and complain about work and relationships. It's therapeutic but we all miss having something to actually discuss together, some shared exploration that isn't just venting. We've become a support group that forgot what we're supposed to be supporting each other toward.
More people experience this than they realize.
The group has confused emotional support with intellectual stagnation, abandoning shared growth for shared grievance.
