Our community garden group started with such excitement about growing food together and learning from each other, but now every meeting feels heavy with complaints about who's not watering enough or whose plot looks messy. We still grow good vegetables but we've lost the lightness and curiosity that made this feel like more than just individual plots next to each other.
More people experience this than they realize.
A collective vision of shared abundance has calcified into territorial anxieties and petty enforcement.
