Our permaculture collective used to feel magical when we'd work the land together and then sit around the fire sharing stories and wild ideas about soil restoration. Now our meetings are all spreadsheets and task lists and who didn't show up for their work party, and I can't remember the last time anyone laughed or shared something that wasn't a complaint.
