When siblings disagree about preserving family cultural memory

My brother and I are trying to piece together our grandmother's stories before she passes, but she switches between three languages and sometimes mixes up which grandchild she's talking to, and we remember completely different versions of the family stories she told us growing up. We both want to preserve her legacy but we can't agree on what's memory loss versus cultural differences in how stories are supposed to change over time.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Family members are grappling with the intersection of aging, linguistic complexity, and the fluid nature of oral tradition.
