When business partners disagree on how to practice Socratic method

My business partner and I have been using Socratic questioning to examine our company decisions, but we've discovered that we have completely different ideas about what counts as a good question and when you've examined something enough. Our sessions either go in circles forever or get cut short and I'm not sure we're actually getting clearer about anything.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The partners are discovering that the method itself requires shared assumptions about inquiry that they don't possess.
