When family members with different eating disorders try to support each other

My daughter and I are both in recovery from different eating disorders and we keep getting stuck in this pattern where we're trying to eat meals together to support each other but we each have such different food rules and anxieties that half the time one of us ends up triggered or feeling like we can't eat at all. We want to help each other but I'm starting to wonder if we're making it harder for both of us.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people in recovery are discovering that their well-intentioned mutual support is creating new forms of dysfunction around the very behaviors they're trying to heal.
