When family members use TCM organ-emotion theory to avoid mental health treatment

My mom has been seeing a TCM doctor who told her that her depression is liver qi stagnation, and now she keeps telling me that my anxiety is obviously spleen deficiency and I need to stop worrying so much. She means well but it feels like she's using these organ-emotion concepts to dismiss both our mental health struggles instead of actually dealing with them, and I don't know how to talk to her about getting real help without rejecting something that seems to comfort her.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Traditional medicine concepts are being used as spiritual bypassing, preventing a family from accessing needed support while creating the illusion of addressing emotional wellness.
