My roommate and I both work from home and we've realized we're unconsciously mirroring each other's stress levels throughout the day - if one of us is having a frantic work moment, the other picks up that energy even from across the apartment. We're essentially stress-contagious to each other and need to figure out how to maintain better energetic boundaries while sharing space.
More people experience this than they realize.
Proximity has created unconscious emotional contagion where stress states transfer between people regardless of their source or relevance to the other person.
