When polyvagal training groups become dysregulating instead of healing

Our therapy training cohort has been practicing polyvagal-informed interventions on each other, but some people keep intellectualizing everything while others get really activated and we don't seem to have the skills to hold space for both responses. The group feels unsafe now and I'm not sure if we should keep going or if this kind of experiential learning is too risky.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The group lacks the collective capacity to hold the nervous system activation that polyvagal work naturally brings up.
