When creative groups become stuck in analysis instead of creation

Our writing group formed because we all wanted to finish our novels, but eight months in none of us have made significant progress and our meetings have become more about discussing why we can't write than actually writing. We're all facing different versions of the same creative block, and I think our shared struggle is becoming an excuse rather than motivation.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group discovers their shared commitment to discussing obstacles has replaced their commitment to overcoming them.
