When workplace mental health groups face cultural stigma from families

Three of us at work started meeting informally to talk about mental health stuff because we're all dealing with family pressure around seeking therapy - our families see it as bringing shame. But now one person's family found out and there's been huge drama, and we're all scared about continuing but also we really need this support from each other.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A support network is fracturing under the weight of competing loyalties between peer solidarity and family expectations around mental health privacy.
