When peer support groups become competitive about symptoms

Three of us in our peer support group have been meeting outside the formal sessions because we all experience auditory hallucinations, but lately our informal gatherings feel more like we're competing over whose symptoms are worse or whose treatment is working better, and I don't know if this is helping any of us anymore.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Shared experience can become a source of comparison rather than connection when underlying needs for validation aren't addressed.
