When your discussion group hits different readiness levels for examining privilege and bias

Three of us started a book club focused on social justice topics but we've discovered we have really different comfort levels with challenging our own biases - one person wants to dive deep into uncomfortable truths, another gets defensive quickly, and I'm somewhere in the middle trying to facilitate but feeling like I'm failing everyone.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A learning cohort is struggling with the uneven emotional labor and varying depths of commitment required for genuine ideological self-examination.
