When family members have irreconcilable political differences

My adult daughter and I have completely different political views and family gatherings have become minefields where we either fight or avoid talking about anything meaningful. We both love each other fiercely but I'm starting to wonder if we can have a real relationship when we see the world so differently.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Love and fundamental disagreement can coexist, but it requires both people to choose the relationship over being right.
