When co-founders disagree about recognition and legacy in shared projects

My best friend and I started a nonprofit together five years ago and somewhere along the way it became clear that they want their name on everything — the building, the programs, even stuff they barely worked on. I care about the mission but I'm starting to feel like I'm just helping build their personal monument and I don't know how to say that without destroying our friendship and maybe the organization.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

The line between meaningful contribution and ego-driven empire building has blurred, threatening both the relationship and the shared work.
