When co-founders disagree about succession planning for their nonprofit

My best friend and I started this environmental nonprofit together fifteen years ago and we're both in our sixties now wondering what happens to everything we've built when we're gone. She wants to find young successors and step back gradually, but I'm terrified that no one else will really understand what we were trying to do — and I think she's being naive about how much gets lost when founders leave.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people who built something meaningful together are discovering they have fundamentally different relationships to letting go.
