When siblings inherit shared space with different visions for honoring memory

My brother and I inherited our dad's workshop and all his tools after he died, and we both want to keep using the space but we have totally different visions for it. I want to preserve it exactly like he left it and he wants to update everything and make it functional for actual projects. We haven't been able to talk about it without getting emotional.
