When friend groups struggle to adapt to different life stages

My closest friend group from our twenties has been trying to do our annual trip but half of us have kids now and totally different financial situations, and instead of talking about it we just keep suggesting things that work for some of us but not others. I can feel us all getting quietly resentful instead of just admitting things have changed.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A community must acknowledge that growth means some traditions need to die for the friendship to live.
