When life changes create distance between old friends

My college roommate and I have been best friends for twenty years but since she had kids and I didn't our friendship has become so complicated — she's always exhausted and canceling plans and I'm trying to be understanding but I also feel like I'm always accommodating her schedule and never getting the same consideration. We both know something has shifted but we're too scared to name it.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people who love each other are learning that different life paths can create different needs that feel impossible to bridge.
