When LGBTQ family members have different coming out strategies

My cousin and I are both queer and grew up in a conservative family that's slowly becoming more accepting, but we have different approaches to how out to be at family events. She's more confrontational about it and I'm more gradual, and sometimes it feels like we're undermining each other's strategies instead of supporting each other through this long process of changing our family's understanding.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people are navigating the complex work of transforming family systems while honoring their different needs for safety and authenticity.
