When families face deep political divisions that threaten traditional gatherings

My extended family always gathers for holidays but this year several people have said they might not come because of ongoing tension from an argument we had about vaccines and politics last Christmas. Everyone is acting like we should just pretend it didn't happen, but I think we need to actually talk about how we're going to be family when we disagree about fundamental things.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A family system is discovering that love and shared history might not be enough to bridge ideological differences that feel existential to different members.
