My neighborhood used to feel really connected but over the past few years people have gotten more private and now when something happens we don't know how to talk to each other about it. There was this incident last week that affected several of us and we're all handling it separately instead of together even though it obviously involves all of us.
More people experience this than they realize.
Community requires practice, and without it, people become strangers who happen to live near each other.
