When couples have different needs for community involvement in cohousing

My partner and I moved into this cohousing community six months ago thinking we wanted the same level of involvement but it turns out I'm energized by all the meetings and shared meals and they just want to retreat to our private space after work. We're starting to feel like we're pulling each other in opposite directions and I don't know if this is about the community or about us.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Two people are discovering that their visions of shared living don't actually align, and the gap is creating tension in both their relationship and their place in the community.
