When parent-teen relationships become distant

My teenage daughter and I used to be close and now she barely speaks to me and my husband says I need to give her space but I feel like I'm watching her drift away and I don't know if this is normal teenage stuff or if I did something wrong. We're living in the same house but we might as well be strangers and I don't know how to bridge the gap without pushing her further away.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

Adolescence asks parents to love from a distance just when fear makes them want to hold closer.
