When community projects become battlegrounds for competing political philosophies

Our community garden group started as a simple neighborhood project, but it's evolved into this space where people have really different philosophies about environmentalism, capitalism, and how change happens, and now every decision feels loaded with implications about whose values we're endorsing. We still want to grow food together but we can't agree on whether to partner with the city, accept corporate sponsorship, or stay grassroots, and it's becoming exhausting.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A group that came together around shared action is discovering that shared values cannot be assumed even among people who want similar outcomes.
