When friend groups grow apart due to different life changes

Our friend group from college still gets together every year but three of us got sober and the other four still drink heavily and now these weekends feel forced and sad instead of fun. We all keep pretending it's fine but I can see us slowly losing each other and no one wants to be the one to say it out loud.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A community built around shared habits is discovering that growth sometimes requires grieving what brought you together.
