When friend groups struggle with supporting someone through extended mental health crisis

Our friend group has this person who's been struggling with depression for months and we're all trying to be supportive but we're starting to burn out and some people are pulling back. Nobody wants to be the one to say we're overwhelmed because it feels cruel, but the dynamic is becoming unsustainable and I think we need to figure out how to love them better without losing ourselves.

More people experience this than they realize.

What we've seen

A community is wrestling with the limits of informal care while trying to maintain love and loyalty to someone in sustained crisis.
